A Registered Kinesiologist is a regulated health professional in Ontario. They assess human movement and performance and provide rehabilitation to maintain, restore, or improve function and capacity.
Usually no. You can contact Tysen directly and, when it is safe to do so, begin care without seeing another provider first. If you want to use insurance, check your own plan for its referral requirements.
No. This can also fit active adults, workers, parents, older adults, and people trying to get moving again.
Yes. Tysen can assess movement and performance, explain relevant findings and clinical impressions, and discuss areas that may be contributing to pain or reduced function. He does not diagnose a disease or disorder. If the findings suggest that a diagnosis or medical investigation is needed, he will recommend the appropriate provider.
Yes. Sessions are online only. The plan is built around your goal, space, equipment, and starting point.
Yes, when the situation fits online care. The assessment uses your history, goals, movement, tolerance, equipment, space, and activity demands to build a clear rehab plan.
Usually not. When your health history and assessment indicate that it is safe, rehab can begin from a clinical impression of what is limited, what you can do now, and what you want to get back to.
Be ready to confirm your physical location and a callback number. Join from a private, well-lit area with enough clear space to move safely, keep a phone nearby, and position your camera so Tysen can see you. The plan uses stable equipment available to you. An activity may be modified or stopped if it cannot be assessed safely online. If the connection fails or a safety concern arises, the agreed backup or emergency plan will be used. Virtual kinesiology is not an emergency service; call 911 or seek local emergency care for urgent concerns.
You should leave with a clearer picture of the activity goal, the current gap, the next exercise block, and the decision rules for progressing, holding, or adjusting the plan.
Seek urgent or emergency care first for serious or rapidly worsening symptoms, significant trauma, a suspected concussion or broken bone, uncontrolled bleeding, a mental health crisis, or another situation that needs immediate treatment. If it is not an emergency, you can usually start with a kinesiology assessment when online care is appropriate. Tysen will recommend urgent, in-person, or other health care when the history, findings, or limits of an online assessment call for it.
Sessions are virtual and available only when you are physically located in Ontario. Your location will be confirmed at each appointment.
No. Payment is completed through Jane. After payment, you receive an itemized receipt to submit yourself if your plan permits. Coverage and referral requirements depend on your own plan.
Some plans include kinesiology, and some do not. Some people may use a health spending account. Please check your own benefits before starting if coverage matters to you.
You may be able to, depending on your plan and your tax situation. Receipts are provided so you can submit them yourself where they apply. Please check with your benefits provider, accountant, or the CRA.
The Work With Me page lists the current service options and pricing.
Receipts should include the provider name, designation, registration number, service date, amount paid, and service description.
That is normal. Use the contact page to ask a short, nonclinical question about service fit. Do not include medical or health information; existing clients and clinical matters belong in Jane.
